Magnetofoni me shirita UHER 5000 Universal shërbente si incizues dhe prodhues audio dhe përdorej nga Sigurimi i Shtetit për të regjistruar proceset e  hetuesisë si dhe bisedat e personave të përgjuar. Nga ana teknke objekti është një regjistrues mono kasetë me dy rrota dhe regjistron me frekuencë (40-16,000Hz) në shpejtësinë e shiritit: 2.9,4.7 ose 9.5 cm/s. I prodhuar në Gjermaninë Perëndimore gjatë viteve 1972–1975, me kalimin e viteve, dizenjimi u përmirësua dhe emri ndryshoi nga Universal 5000 në “Universalgerät 5000”. Pajisja u pasua në 1985-ën nga UHER 6000 i modernizuar,  i cili kishte specifikime të ngjashme. Magnetofonët me shirita UHER 5000 Universal janë të ekspozuar në dhomat numër 7, 25 dhe 27 të muzeut “Shtëpia me Gjethe.

 

The UHER 5000 Universal tape recorder served as a recorder and audio producer and was used by the State Security to record investigative processes as well as conversations of eavesdroppers. Technically, the object is a mono cassette recorder with two wheels and records with frequency (40-16,000Hz) at the speed of the tape: 2.9,4.7 or 9.5 cm / s. Manufactured in West Germany during 1972–1975, over the years, the design improved and the name changed from Universal 5000 to Universalgerät 5000. The device was followed in 1985 by the modernized UHER 6000, which had similar specifications. The UHER 5000 Universal tape recorders are exhibited in rooms number 7, 25 and 27 of the museum “House with Leaves.
